Reactions from Game of Thrones cast on 23 Emmy award nominations
Once again Game of Thrones is going to be a dominant force at Emmy awards. It has been announced on Thursday morning that HBO biggest show is nominated for 23 awards.
This epic saga has been nominated for best drama, best writing, best director, best visual effects, hair styling and many other various categories, which we can’t all mention in this text.
In addition to above-mentioned categories, they were also nominated for awards in most important categories, acting ones.
Kit Harington and Maisie Williams got their first nomination, while Lena Headey, Emilia Clarke, and Peter Dinklage were already nominated in the past years.
We also have Max von Sydow, a famous old actor, who got the nomination in the best guest actor category, for his Three-Eyed Raven performance.
Nominated stars were excited, especially those who are experiencing this for the first time.
Kit Harington said he was stunned with the nomination and that emotions were high for him when he heard the news.
Maisie Williams: said that she’s grateful just to be the part of the Game of Thrones crew and the nomination itself is unbelievable for her. She also expressed gratitude to everyone who created Arya, and helped her to achieve this honor.
Lena Headey: was extremely thrilled and her reaction to this news, was short but very emotional.
David Benioff and D.B. Weiss and Miguel Sapochnik have non-acting nominations for writing the 9th episode “Battle of bastards”.
Another directing nomination went to Jack Bender who directed “The Door”
The list of Grammy nominations had one unpleasant surprise for the Game of Throne crew. Composer Ramin Djawadi didn’t get a nomination in spite of his fantastic work during the past season.
On the previous Emmy Awards, Game of Thrones won 12 primetime Emmys, breaking many records, most important of them, becoming the show with most awards in one season. Many experts are saying that sixth season of the series is much better than the previous one, so we might expect from them to repeat their domination at this prestigious event.
Emmy Awards will be held on Sunday, September the 18th. This will be the 68th time in history and Jimmy Kimmel will host the show at Microsoft Center in Los Angeles.
